Dear Ex-Friend

RACHEYwrites | Dear Ex-Friend

Dear Ex-Friend,

We’re not friends anymore, but I thought I’d write this letter because I was thinking of you recently. There’s no correct way to have a “friendship breakup,” and sometimes time and distance affects friendships where we talk less and less and less… until we don’t talk or check in on each other anymore.

We either drift apart slowly and let time make its dues, or we abruptly stop the friendship altogether by deleting each other off any form of contact (i.e. phone numbers, social media, etc.). For whatever reason, our friendship ended because in some way, shape, or form the wave length between us withered, and/or became unhealthy and toxic — toxic to the point of no return. If for some reason I did pushed you away or pulled away from our friendship, know that it was meant to happen. I whole-heartedly believe that we are not the same person between day, weeks, months, and years. We just had the unfortunate timing of being unaligned while we were cool. Friends come and go, and at rare times we’re lucky to reconnect again when we reach different maturities or places in our life. Only, for now, our paths aren’t meant to cross.

You’re on a different path — with different ideas, values, beliefs, personalities, and interests. It’s not something to be sad or mad about. It is merely life in the works. If I’ve done wrong, I hope you’ll find it in your heart to forgive me. If I felt like you’ve wronged me, I forgive you and I accept that we aren’t friends anymore.

Please know I’m not sitting here wishing we could be friends again, because I know the universe will play out the way it wants to play out. I want all good things for you and wish you nothing but the best. And I hope you are surrounded by good people and good vibes.

Wishing you well 💛
RACHEY
